MANUFACTURING - The story of how to make your horse comfortable
Horses are big business in this country. If you ignore the initial outlay on the four-legged friend, you’ve got yourself a drain of between £3,000 to £10,000-a-year. Neigh laughing matter. On top of that, they are quite cute looking too – so you really want them to gallop around gleefully. Unfortunately, many of the saddle pads used cause them a great deal more than an itch which cannot be cured with a good scratch – not least because they don’t bend that way.
One horse-loving entrepreneur didn’t want their enjoyment of riding to hurt the horse. She saddled-up and created a revolutionary saddle pad with enough finely-tuned angles meaning that it wouldn’t cause pain. This was no easy matter. Supply wasn’t meeting high demand in the first place but once the verified results of scientists were in, things were hot to trot.
