FOOD TECH - The story of making meals completely free of all allergens
A child in the family has a terrible condition that severely affects their health and behaviour. There is no cure, but medication can make a bit of difference, just not quite enough to allow the family to live a relatively normal life.
After much research and some trial and error, almost entirely cutting out all possible allergens from the child’s diet appeared to help significantly. That’s not just artificial colourings, additives, added salt and sugar, but garlic, wheat, celery, mustard, dairy, eggs, shellfish, soya and nuts. After making this discovery, the family have gone on to produce these meals as a small manufacturing company and are even selling in to a major UK supermarket.
