FOOD TECH – The story of creating a boozy cocktail that will keep you cool this summer
It’s summertime and the weather is fine, but you ain’t in the mood for no wine. Unfortunately, when it comes to cocktails, you should remember from your school days that high ABV alcohol doesn’t freeze – certainly not the sort of tipples that you want to form a cocktail anyway.
Some clever guys sat down and worked out a way of ridding all of their issues with the help of a top university team. Not only did they develop their own innovative packaging to overcome shelf life and flavour preservation issues, but they also managed to find an alcoholic formula which allowed their product (10% abv) to be the first fully frozen cocktail equivalent to a genuine drink.
